Andre Kerr is a Board Certified Physician Assistant. He was born and raised in Jamaica and migrated to South Florida in 2005. He graduated in 2017 from Florida International University (FIU) with a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant. Prior to FIU, he received a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Medicine Biology from Nova Southeastern University (NSU).
Andre worked as a teaching assistant at NSU, a clinical laboratory scientist and histotechnologist at Quest Diagnostics in Pompano Beach after his bachelor’s degree. As a physician Assistant, Andre worked a short time doing inpatient medicine at Baptist Hospital in Miami, specializing in vascular surgery. He quickly chose to prevent diseases rather than treat his patients at the end of their illness after life-threatening complications. This led him to focus on primary care and his passion for preventative medicine, diabetes and hypertension. This philosophy of preventative care are key factors in his approach to his patients every day.
Andre still lives in Broward county with his wife and two children. He enjoys family time, reading, working on computers, and working out in his spare time. He is an active member in his community and volunteers speaking to and mentoring young people in underserved communities Broward and Miami-Dade on careers of science and medicine.
