Dr. Carmen Hurtado grew up in the Washington, DC area after moving to the U.S. from Peru at the age of ten. She completed her undergraduate studies at The George Washington University in Washington, DC and graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Biology. She then attended The George Washington University School of Medicine and subsequently completed her internship and residency at Cedars-Sinai and UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. She is board certified in Internal Medicine. Since completing her residency in 2004, Dr. Hurtado has worked as an internist at several prominent hospitals, including Georgetown University Hospital, Johns Hopkins and most recently, Cleveland Clinic Florida. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Society of Internal Medicine, and the American Medical Association among other organizations.
Dr. Hurtado has a special interest in women’s health, nutrition/weight management and preventive medicine. She enjoys getting to know her patients and their families over the years and building a long-lasting relationship with them. She believes in practicing medicine as an equal partnership between her and her patients with the goal of helping to improve and maintain the health of her patients.
Dr. Hurtado is fluent in English and Spanish. Her hobbies include cooking, baking, reading and running. She is married and has 3 children.
