Dr. Matthew Teltser has been practicing as a board certified cardiologist in South Broward for over 20 years and has built a large following. His expertise includes diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases, lipidology, nuclear cardiology and preventive cardiology. His success with patients stems from his philosophy that patients need to be active partners in their treatment. An open dialogue allows his patients to make informed decisions with a clearly defined joint plan.
A native of New Jersey, he graduated with honors from Rutgers College of Rutgers University and through a senior research project at Rutgers Medical School earned the title of Rutgers Scholar. Upon completion of his MD degree, which was attained at UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School, he moved to Pennsylvania and became board certified in Internal Medicine after training at Medical College of Pennsylvania. During his fourth year at MCP, Dr. Teltser was an Instructor of Internal Medicine while completing a Fellowship in Clinical Pharmacology. He continued his journey southward and completed his training in cardiology at the University of Florida Health Science Center Jacksonville.
In addition to his board certification in cardiology he is a board certified lipidologist (specialist in cholesterol disorders). He is also board certified in nuclear cardiology, heart imaging techniques using radioisotopes (radioactive tracers). He has a strong interest in preventive cardiology and is a member of the ASPC (American Society of Preventive Cardiology).
As the medical director of A&R Research, Dr. Teltser supervises a number of medical research studies utilizing the latest drugs for the treatment of cholesterol, hypertension, gout, COPD and diabetes. He is dedicated to finding the highest level of care for his patients.
He is on staff at the Memorial Healthcare System hospitals throughout Hollywood, Pembroke Pines and Miramar. He is a former Chief of Cardiology and Chief of Medicine at Memorial Hospital Pembroke and a former board member at Memorial Hospital Miramar.
Since the Covid pandemic, he does follow patients with postCovid symptoms and long Covid.
